Kevin Johnston was born in Colorado (USA) to a family of Theater performers and teachers – he was on stage for the first time at age 8 singing opera and musical theater. Since then he moved to Brooklyn for 10 years pursuing a singer songwriter career. He formed Bright Silence 8 years ago w/ now-members of Chet Faker, Troye Sivan, and Twin Shadow. During this period he has performed month-long 10 part polyphonic song working with Kjartan Sweinsson from Sigur Ros, has toured Europe 4 times, performed a tribute to Prince at Red Rocks Ampitheater and has just released the second Bright Silence record TIME IS NEW. This new album has been produced by Alex Lipsen (Nada Surf, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), mixed by Dan Long (We Are Augustines, Local Natives), mastered by Ryan Smith (Adele, Beyoncé, Coldplay). Band on the album: Kirk Schoenherr (Chet Faker, Skaters) Tim Lappin (Chet Faker) Zach Jones (Sting, A Great Big World).
